Today, hearing aids are smaller, more comfortable, and most importantly - more effective - than ever before, which explains why satisfaction with new hearing aids is at an all-time high of 90% (Kochkin, 2005).

That’s great news, because in over 90% of cases of hearing loss, hearing aids are recommended. In fact, for most hearing loss', hearing aids are the only treatment. And research has proven that hearing aids not only help you hear better but can actually improve the quality of your life.

Based on your listening needs, type of hearing loss, and lifestyle, your hearing aid audiologist will advise you on which hearing aid styles and features best meet your communication needs and their related costs. If you have hearing loss in both ears, the hearing aid audiologist may recommend that you use two hearing aids. In most instances, wearing two hearing aids helps in localising the direction of sounds, improves listening in noisy situations, and provides better overall hearing. The hearing aid audiologist will provide you with the recommended hearing aid(s) and/or other hearing assistive devices and will instruct you in their use.
